C.J. GOLDEN TO SIGN COPIES OF “THE TAO OF THE DEFIANT WOMAN” MARCH 14
Meriden Public Library will host a special appearance by C. J. Golden, author of THE TAO OF THE DEFIANT WOMAN on Wednesday, March 14 at 7:00 p.m. Ms. Golden’s appearance is in celebration of Women’s History Month.
Golden will conduct a workshop called “Living Your Life with Tao and Defiance”.
Employing interactive exercises and sharing some personal examples, she will introduce the participants to the concept of Taogirl, a woman who understands the acceptance of the Tao while maintaining a vibrant and youthful spirit. She exemplifies the Tao and defiant attitude which forms the foundation of Golden’s philosophy.
Transcending age and gender, the message within hold strong and true for all of us as we travel life’s path—learning to negotiate the stumbling blocks we find along the way.
Together we explore those principles of Taoism which will aid us in meeting the challenges women face in today’s culture. The interaction between leader and participants help us all to understand how this ancient philosophy of acceptance can work hand in hand with a defiant attitude – one that defies the archetypical stereotypes, negativity and limitations which try to hinder our personal growth.
At the end of the workshop series the participants – men and women, teens to centenarians—come away with the understanding that it is possible to hold on to joy and vitality as we go through our years. And they will possess the skills to do so.
Continually reinventing herself, C. J. Golden has enjoyed successful careers as a speech and hearing therapist as well as the head of the group sales department of an Equity playhouse in New England. She has also acted in both New York and Los Angeles and published poetry, short stories and essays. THE TAO OF THE DEFIANT WOMAN, her first book, was born out of her love of writing and personal desire to share her quest for her own life journey—one that is filled with acceptance and joy.
