Join Al Terzi and Local Comics to Support Child Guidance Clinic

Rick Roberts, a Cheshire-based attorney by profession, can often be found making people laugh – and using his comedic talents to raise money for local charities. On May 7th, he will team up with WFSB’s Al Terzi and fellow comedians Mark Verselli and Andy Pitz to support the Child Guidance Clinic for Central Connecticut. More importantly, to support the 1,300 children and their families from central Connecticut who will need the Clinic’s services this year. That includes a variety of services from childhood depression, trauma and anxiety to adolescent substance abuse, ADD, ADHD and more. Though the cause is a serious one, the event has a history of making people laugh. This year’s Comedy Night and Silent Auction is the 6th Annual event – and longtime attendees are gathering groups of friends to enjoy the evening at Il Monticello in Meriden, featuring hors d’oeuvres, dessert and the show. Tickets are $35 in advance or $325 for a table of 10, and can be purchased by contacting the Clinic at 203-235-5767 or comedynight@cgccentralct.org. In addition to Al and Rick, the evening will feature: • Andy Pitz, a regular performer at all of NYC’s top comedy clubs, including Comic Strip Live and Gotham Comedy Club, has also appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman • Mark Verselli, a critically acclaimed impressionist from Wallingford. His act, featuring his extraordinary singing voice, has wowed audiences across the country, from Bally’s Las Vegas to the Cape Cod Melody Tent. • Silent auction items including an all-inclusive stay in Antigua, Yankees – Mets tickets, spa treatments, handmade Italian Pottery, a YMCA Campership, a vineyard package from Truro Vineyards of Cape Cod and more. This year’s event is a particularly important one for the Child Guidance Clinic for Central Connecticut, as the need for their specialized services has increased by 40% over the past 2 years. “Our philosophy” says Executive Director Tom Czarkosky, “is to make it easy for distressed families to enter treatment. When they are in a difficult situation, they shouldn’t face extra hurdles to get help.” Find out more information at www.cgccentralct.org.
